FEEDBACK

WHAT PEOPLE HAVE WRITTEN ABOUT

AROUND THE WORLD

From Vic Raines - What a great night out.  We saw “Chicago” a while back and this was much better.

From Malcolm Stern - "Triumph" is the word that comes to mind. It really was a stunning show, and demonstrates what we can achieve when all the ingredients are right - script, music, choreography, performances, all deployed with a high degree of imagination and delivered with great energy. Do pass on my thanks and congratulations to everyone involved.

From Dr Andrew Parmley - What a triumph! A great entertainment and very well produced! Congratulations!

From Tim Longman - We really enjoyed the show, especially John. The children sang the “Railroad” song over their Shreddies this morning.

From Martin Thorp - Not often do I burst into print, but am moved to do so on this occasion. "Around The World" was highly entertaining, full of laughs, and altogether great fun. Although I viewed the original production only from the side, I've no doubt that this version was vastly superior in all respects, and the new songs were well up to standard. All the acting and the choreography, both male and female, was great, but the accolade must go to Simon who excelled himself. I actually got more enjoyment from your show than from "Merrily We Roll Along" entertaining though that was. All your effort was well worthwhile as far as I am concerned.

From Tim and Pam Weale - We thought it was great. Fast pace, good script with [speaking as the erstwhile school wardrobe lady] some incredibly smooth costume changes.

From David Lewis - Chairman Hampstead Garden Suburb Residents Association

I went to the Saturday matinee with three young friends aged 5 to 9 and I can report we all had a delightful experience. Congratulations on an excellent and slick production and also on adapting it as a musical.

From Margaret Earing - Just a little note to say how much we enjoyed the production on Sunday – it was real fun and the songs were fabulous! The kids were doubly delighted as they received a book each on the way out – great for the car journey home!

From Robin Burn - Really enjoyed the show particularly the new improved version. I thought Simon and Jon Musker were the stars and it was good recognising some old faces e.g. David Rance, Emma, Tim, David White. The kids were great but they must have been really weary come the finale.

From Carolyn Greenwood - What a talented man you are and in my book a genius for creating an evening as entertaining and novel as "Around the World" is. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, thought the staging and costumes were brilliant, as was the singing and acting, dancing as well. It was a really fun evening - a view shared by Catherine . Again, congratulations!

From  a drama teacher, broadcaster, author and professional adjudicator It was, I thought, one of the best things I've seen you do, and I very much enjoyed it. You looked and sounded very professional. In fact I thought the show was very strong in its male members (if you get my meaning!)

From Marilyn Grossmann -This really is a truly spectacular and exceedingly polished production! Vibrant, colourful and guaranteed to make adults and children alike leave with the "feel good" factor.

From Caroline Elliston  -
This is just to say thank you again for arranging last night - it was
so lovely for we "veterans" to meet again after all those years,
and particularly to be on that familiar stage again - a very special occasion.  It's very comforting to find that those
behind-the-scenes faces are still there working away in their usual talented and
committed way, and that the next generation seem to be continuing in their footsteps
        - hopefully ensuring that the HGSDS continues for the next century!
It was good to hear those songs again - you have some great singers
        there. -nobody does it better!
