The Garden Suburb Theatre

Annual General Meeting

Highlights 6th October 2005

Elected to General Committee for 2 years Roger Rose and Tim Solomons, to join Joyce Piper and Miriam Clark who have another year to serve

Elected to Casting and Selection Committee for 2 years

Richard Kinder and Tim Messom, to join Andrew Craze and Bernard Smith who have another year to serve. This would be an all-male committee were it not for Diana Bromley acting as its permanent voluntary secretary

Bernard Smith was also elected GST Treasurer and Veronica Woolf was elected as Secretary. Retiring Treasurer Fred Greisssen and retiring Secretary Liz Travis were warmly thanked for their work over the years and presented with a gift each by Chairman John Colmans. Pleasingly both Liz and Fred have indicated that they are willing to help in any way they can to help their successors and the society - neither has retired in any long term sense of the word.

Fred Griessen reported on a significant end of year profit, largely due to overall no loss on plays plus members covenanting their subscriptions so we can receive a good level of gift aid . Pam Walker, Membership Secretary, reported on 112 memberships subscriptions paid so far compared with last years final membership of about 200.

Paula Morris, casting and selection member reported that due to shifting dates in arrangements with the school and the Gatehouse there was still no certainty about the March and May plays, but it was intended to stage Fallen Angels by Noel Coward at the Gatehouse in March and an Ayckbourn comedy in May at HB School
